Booking.com Doesn't Share Your Guest's Phone Number Anymore. Here's How to Get It.
Booking.com no longer sends guest phone numbers to your PMS. Your WhatsApp welcomes and upsells have quietly stopped. Here's how to get the number back, straight from the guest.
A guest books your hotel on Booking.com.
The booking lands in your PMS. Name, dates, room, email. No phone number.
Since September 28, 2026, Booking.com has stopped sending guest phone numbers to hotel systems. That covers every PMS, every channel manager and every property, worldwide.
It's still your guest. Increasingly, it's not your conversation.
No Error. Just Silence.
Booking.com says the change is meant to stop phishing. New bookings, changes and cancellations all arrive without the number. The numbers you already have stay put.
But anything that relied on that field has quietly stopped. The WhatsApp welcome. The parking directions. The early check-in offer. The airport pickup upsell.
You won't see an error or get an alert. The messages just don't go out.
Booking.com Still Has the Number
The number hasn't disappeared. You can see it in the Booking.com Extranet, one reservation at a time. Booking.com messaging still works, and so does the masked email address.
What's gone is automatic access. No PMS or channel manager can pull the number back in.
So the guest arrives at your front desk having heard nothing from you. Next time, they hear from the OTA instead.
Ask the Guest, Not the OTA
Here's the good news: guests will happily give you their number if you ask at the right moment.
That moment is online check-in. A guest checking in early wants their room, their directions and their arrival sorted. Sharing a phone number is part of the deal.
A phone number from an OTA is borrowed. A phone number from the guest is yours.
What Asking Directly Gets You
Your WhatsApp flows, back on. Pre-arrival messages, upsells and payment links go out again.
A number that stays with you. It sits on the guest profile for every future stay.
A path to direct. The next booking can start with you, not the OTA.
How Stayflexi Helps
As soon as a Booking.com reservation is confirmed, Stayflexi emails the guest their Magic Link. They check in online, and because the phone number is a required field, it's saved straight to the reservation.
If the guest replies in the Booking.com chat instead, the message lands in Stayflexi Conversations, alongside your Expedia and Airbnb chats. One inbox, one guest record, nothing to copy between tools.
Your guest. Your number. Your conversation.
